A toolset for planning your roleplay world and keeping track of where everything should be. Allow your players to see your map being updated as they discover locations, either in person or over video, and make your fantasy world seem more real.


Usage

Unzip the file to your chosen location. Add your map (.png or .jpg) into the Maps folder. Start the application and choose the map you added when starting a new world.


Controls

  • WASD/ MMB (Hold): Move camera
  • Scroll Wheel: Zoom camera
  • Spacebar: Open/ close marker menu
  • Left Alt: Show all marker names
  • Left-click: Select marker on menu/ place marker
  • Right-click (on a placed marker): Move marker
  • Right-click (with a marker): Delete marker
  • MMB (With measure tool): Change mode
  • Esc: Open/ close "pause" menu


Current Features

  • Add your own map into the tool
  • Insert location and character markers onto the map
  • 25 location markers and 8 character markers
  • Move and delete placed markers quickly to change your world
  • Change the names of markers to pop up on mouse hover
  • Save your world, and load it for the next session
  • Set your world's size and use the measurement tool to work out how long it would take for your players' party to get from A to B (to C to D to E...)


Planned Features (in no particular order)

  • Bug fixes (of course)
  • Marker size: Change the scale of the markers to better fit the location
  • One more dimension: Go from 2D to 3D to get the aesthetic of playing on an actual board, with 3D pieces replacing the character markers
  • Custom markers: Add your own images to use as markers
  • Settlement view: Go into your towns and cities, creating their layout or procedurally generating one
  • Dice roll: Select any combination of dice to roll across the world, particularly useful for online sessions
